Questions and answers

Do you have a question about holiday home ownership at Coastfields? Take a look at the most commonly asked questions and it your query may already have been asked (and answered)!

Q: What size holiday home do you sell?
A: We have various sizes available ranging from 28ftx10ft to 40ftx20ft. Location will depend on available pitches at your chosen park.

Q: What am I buying?
A: You are buying your holiday home to own outright. You will not own the land that it is sited on. You will be granted a license for a minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years dependent on the age and condition of the caravan or Lodge. After this period, your holiday home agreement will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Q: How long will it take to complete a purchase?
A: We aim to have everything complete within an average of 14 days. This can vary depending on park selected and location of the holiday home. We will always keep you updated if this will be the case.

Q: Can we buy our holiday home as a family or a group?
A: Yes, you can, but we can only register two names to the ownership of the Caravan.

Q: Do I have to pay a deposit?
A: A minimum deposit of £5,000 or 10% of the total purchase price, whichever is greater, is required. Once this is received, it will be sited to your choice of pitch and utilities connected.
To secure your holiday home before you visit, a £1,000 reservation fee is required. This will remove the holiday home from sale for a period of 7 days, allowing you the time to come and view it and the park. After your visit, this can be transferred towards the deposit and you just need to top up the amount to the minimum required deposit.

Q: Do you accept part exchanges?
A: We can accept other holiday homes or tourers as part exchange against your new holiday home

Q: Is finance available?
A: We offer finance on terms between 2 and 10 years subject to terms and conditions. Please contact our sales team who can go through this in more detail for you.

Q: What other costs are involved with owning a holiday home?
A: You will need to pay your yearly site fees. These range between £2,587 and £5,946 depending on the park and plot you choose. You will also have to pay for your electricity, gas and water (park depending) and yearly insurance.

Q: Do we have to pay insurance?
A: Yes, it is a condition of your licence agreement that you must obtain valid holiday home insurance.

Q: Can I use the facilities on the park or at other sites within Coastfields?
A: Yes, you can. You will have 8 membership passes available to use for yourself and friends/family. These cannot be given to guests if you let out your holiday home. Separate passes are available to purchase.

Q: Am I able to live permanently on park in my holiday home?
A: No. We are a holiday park and not a residential park.

Q: Is there parking available?
A: Yes. There is parking available at all our parks. Some of our pitches also come with dedicated parking spaces next to your holiday home.

Q: Are dogs allowed on site?
A: Yes, they are. We are a dog friendly company and allow them on all our sites. The only dogs we do not allow on site are those listed as a dangerous dog breed. We ask that they are kept on a lead and the total number allowed is two per holiday home.

Q: Do we have to pay council tax?
A: No, as your holiday Home should not be your permanent residence

Q: Can we sell our holiday home ourselves?
A: Yes, you can if your Holiday Home is under 10 years old. We ask that you liaise with your sales team as there are guidelines to follow as laid out in your Terms and Conditions.

Q: Can I sublet my holiday home?
A: Subletting is allowed on some of our parks. This must be done exclusively through the Coastfields sublet scheme and is subject to your holiday home meeting certain criteria. Please contact our sales team for more information.

Q: What should I do if I want to proceed or find out more?
A: Simply call the number shown or complete the ‘contact us’ section and one of the Sales team will be happy to help.

Q: Do holiday homes come with a warranty?
A: All new holiday homes will come with a manufacturers warranty. The length and what is covered is different between manufacturers. Used holiday homes come with the remainder of manufacturers warranty or a limited one provided by us, whichever is longer.
